Hey, I'm Peter Semehen, the guy behind Forel Art.

Originally from Ontario, I was always drawn to the Pacific Northwest with its wild landscapes and remote fishing spots where you can spend an entire day on the river and not see another soul. Around 9 years ago, I made the move to Tofino, and it completely changed my life. Being just five minutes from the beach, surfing after work, and having the ocean and mountains as my backyard – it's hard to imagine anything better. And when I’m not out on the water or in the surf, you’ll probably find me fly fishing in the rivers, soaking in the quiet beauty of this incredible place.

I’ve always loved being creative. From a young age, art was my thing, but it wasn’t until I started painting watercolours and doing scientific illustrations that I truly found joy in what I was creating. I started selling prints at the Saturday Tofino market, and it brought me so much gratitude. There’s something special about meeting new people, talking fishing stories, and connecting over a shared love for this place.

I feel incredibly grateful to be able to share my art with people who appreciate the beauty of nature and the lifestyle I’ve come to love. It’s been an amazing journey, and I can’t wait to see where it goes from here! Thank you for being a part of it.
